The idea for Punch Brand developed in 2005 when designer Glynis Tao tagged along with her husband to her first comic convention in Toronto. She was inspired by the creative and elaborate costumes the fans wore at the show. She set out to contribute to this very distinct and colorful world. She bought a meter of fleece and experimented with sewing a few cat and bunny hats – calling them crazyheads. She signed up for the next show. To her amazement, she sold out. That’s when Punch Brand was born.
Glynis used her industry experience to quickly grow her crazyheads clothing line by outsourcing production and jumping into her business full time. Since then, Punch Brand relocated to Vancouver and travelled around the world, exhibiting at over 100 conventions across Canada, US and Europe.
In 2011, from out of the blue, she got a call from Google. The Android Marketing Team was looking for custom Android hats and hoodies to give away to their developers and top fans. In just over a month, she was able to design, develop, produce & deliver the products on time. Her “get it done” approach manages to get her company repeat orders to this day.
Today, Punch Brand is a full service apparel company that helps clients build their brand image by turning creative ideas into uniquely designed products.
Our Core Values
We work closely with our clients and turn their ideas into unique custom designs tailored especially for them
Our focus is on companies who strongly recognize product and brand identity
We source suppliers who uphold the highest standards in the manufacturing sector who operate in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
We believe the quality of the product is a reflection of your brand. We take pride in delivering well made products.
As a company we feel it is our responsibility to uphold the highest standards in the manufacturing sector when it comes to human rights and fair treatment of workers. Too often the well being and lives of human beings are overlooked for the purpose of creating cheap, disposable products. At Punch Brand, we take a stand against workers being mistreated and working in unsafe conditions for unsustainable wages. We feel that the people making our apparel are an extension of our team and make sure that we employ factories that maintain safety standards and treat their workers fairly with dignity and respect.
